John,
If you could (even in a new post) provide some directions (If I am not mistaken it is a tricky driveway to find) and info on when it is on it would be great. I might have to come and take some pics

Travel route 84 through Connecticut, East or West bound.
Exit at Rt 195 (Exit 68).
Take Rt 195 south about 8 miles until you reach the University of Connecticut.
Continue past UCONN about 4.5 miles on Rt 195 into Mansfield Center. There will be Center Marine on your right and resteraunts on your left.
If you're alert you'll also see a sign indicating Mansfield Hollow State Park.
At the signal light in front of Center Marine, take a left onto Bassetts Bridge Road.
Follow Bassetts Bridge Road into the park. Do not make the right turn towards the dam.
As you approach the park the road will turn slightly right, go into a hollow and proceed up over a dike and under high voltage power lines.
Just as you come over the dike and under the power lines you'll see a dirt road on your right.
Turn right onto that road. It will be gated with a large yellow gate and will appear locked. It isn't locked so just unwrap the chain, open the gate and drive through. Please close and re "lock" the gate behind you.
Follow that road to the race site.
Please park in the area near the end of the road on your left. Parking in the pit area is reserved for the contestants.
I'll be sitting under the blue canopy, conducting and judging the races. Please stop by, introduce yourself and say hello.
If you're a NAMBA member you are welcome to register and race with us. Just have your NAMBA card available for verification.

Coming from west bound Rt 6, get off at Rt 195 north. I'm guessing there will be a University of Connecticut sign there also. Go north on 195 only a few miles. You'll go by Mc Donalds on your right and a nursing home on your left. Follow 195 north till you get to a signal light with Center Marine on your left. Turn right onto Bassetts Bridge road and follow that into the park as mentioned above.
By the way all. I mentioned in my previous directions that the road into the park is Mansfield Hollow road. That's incorrect, It's Bassetts Bridge Road. Please make that correction if you made a copy. I'll correct the directions.

I'm very sorry to the person from New Haven Connecticut that sent me an E mail/PM regarding what club I belong to. I read the message and deleted it, expecting that it would be in my PM's on RCU. It went away!!
The club I belong to is the Greater Hartford Model Boat Club. We are a NAMBA District 11 club racing at Mansfield Hollow State Park. Our members come from the general Hartford area and as far south as Wallingford, east to Rhode Island and North to the Springfield Mass. area. As I indicated in earlier posts, we are conducting a District 11 Heat Race on Saturday September 6th. All NAMBA members are welcome to race. Anyone is welcome to watch and enjoy. WE begin racing about 10 AM and finish after 4 rounds are completed. We have a 5 lap measured course and a retrieve boat with an outboard engine for fast retreival of dead boats. Directions to the race site are provided above in post #26.

Keep this forum alive. I pay attention to these announcements and others do too!
This is also a good time of year to drive up to NH of Maine
