RE: Earth Race boat
I answered, but once again my post was deleted...
[edit]
The answer is yes, I do know of someone attempting to build an earthrace model.
But this bulletin board does not allow me to tell you who or where to find more information.
Of course if you are building the Earthrace boat, the link probably leads back to you in the UK.

RE: Earth Race boat
I just read in the paper, it's for sale, so if you want, you can have the real thing.
It's moored in the UK at the moment, waiting for a transfer back to it's home port.
Regards, Jan.

RE: Earth Race boat
There was a lot of discussion regarding design and build technique for a model one over on an English forum.
I'll go and drag up the threads and see if I can link them here.
I don't know what Umi had deleted but we'll see if mine can stay.
Try this link.

If that fails then PM me and I'll hook you up with it.
I have a lot of interest in this boat as it was built locally here in NZ.
It is also a hull form that has alway fascinated me as so few people get the type description correct.
At worst it is a trimaran, it is actually a Stabilised Mono-hull. This is a design that is well proven for circumnavigation records.
The Nigel Irens designed Cable & Wireless adventurer was the same design type and held the record prior to Earthrace.
I have had a play with a concept hull of this type that was used to trial a few design ideas. It was air-prop powered too !!
I will follow your progress on this one and help out where I can.
