My wife bought 2 scooters for our sons for christmas, the instructions say to charge for 18 hours the first time, my questian is, a red light turned on when I plugged the chargers plugs into the batterys, but then a green light turned on in about 20 minutes, a long way from 18 hours, is everything O.k. The batteries may already have come almost fully charged and not updated in the manual.

That makes sense, would it hurt them to leave them on the 18 hours, They are large batteries and are covered, I think they are gel cell, If the scooters ever get destroyed, they might make a good low speed boat motor.

If you have a voltmeter laying around, check them with that. It might be kind of late though as you've probably got the stuff wrapped by now.
