Winter projects
OK, those up here in the frozen tundra know what time of year it is, building season! What have you got going on while the snow falls and the ponds are frosted over?
For me, it's repairing what I messed up during the summer and working on one new project so far, a Sport 12 hydro for a proposed new IMPBA class. I'll be ordering the engine next week, a Nova Rossi to drop into it.
Other projects may include another gas mono or whatever I pick up at swap meets.
It doesn't matter what you're thrashing on, nitro, gas, electric, scale, sail or steam, go ahead and throw it in here!
So far but with some other work done since the shots were taken:

RE: Winter projects
Did this a week or two ago. Started it a week before Christmas, and got it done in time to
give to my sister for Christmas. I was drawing scales on the head and tail Christmas morning....
My sister paddles on a Dragon Boat team, and here 6yo daughter asked if I could build her
one as a Christmas present. My neice asked for the model in August...
Leave it to me to put it off till the last minute.
Take a bit of scrap Plywood, apply line drawings
Add in a bit of balsa, instant hull. Start Painting...
Cut scrap plywood for paddles, add 1/16" dowel...
Turn a large dowel for a drum and paint..
Carve up some styrene and Renshape for tail, and
oooh carve a head also.
Create and print scale decals in Coreldraw...
Apply to boat, mess up a decal reprint and apply.. [&:]
Paint tail and make steering board...
Detail and paint the head... white airbrush paint in a technical pen works really good
Scrap up a display base from the hardwood pile.
... ready for wrapping

Still need to do some repairs on my glass cracker. need to power and rig the wooden cracker that I bought, also have a used Jersey skiff I bought to rig and power and oh yea, I just ordered a new lazer 45 in red metalflake to build as well....
