Default RC Boat Racing In Adelaide

Iv been thinking of getting into r/c boats for a while now but never seeing one on water in real life is stopping me from buying one, so can anyone who racers them in Adelaide give me some details on where to go to watch.

Cheers
Dave

The next race is on the 22nd Feb on the River Torrens. Racing starts about 10am & goes through till 4ish (depending on how many popeye's go past). The pit area is on the northern side of the Torrens lake between Morphet Rd & the weir off of War Memorial Drive. You'll see all the marquees set up & the driver stand.

There is a big race meet on the weekend of the 13th-15th March which will see a lot of interstate guys come across.

The only real boat shop in Adelaide is the Adelaide Model Boat Centre on Churchil Rd, Dale has a few boats in there, but not a whole lot.

For running on regular days, guys head to a pond in Andrews Farm near Salisbury next to the golf course. it's the only fresh water pond large enough that a council will let us use. It ISN'T insured though, so use common sense if you do run there.

Hope this helps.

Yep, I just got an email from the club saying that racing for the next 3 rounds at least has been cancelled. looks like I'll be heading to Andrew's Farm pond more often.

I think I'll have to schedule a trip up to the Murray Dirt Highway & see if i can find a place up there to run.
