correct,
but the lazer 45 is 40 inches long and your Rio is 51 inches.
you don't really need to have a rudder bracket any longer than 3 1/2 inches.
you don't have to go with a 5 inch or longer rudder bracket because you don't need to make your boat think that she is longer than she really is.

Hello there;
I to have the rio51 and I have aquired a dual rudder setup,so I came here and there ya go.Got the answer to my question;(distance)My rio has a G2D modified zenoah engine.It was built by marine specialties out of huston texas.
These guys do great work.For me,this is what they built;G2D zenoah,with a walbaro bigbore carb.The intake has been raised and exhaust timing has been lowered.The transfer ports widened and cylinder has been milled to raise compression.If had no problems with it at all,and it hauls.I am going to clock it next week.After that I will try a 3 blade prop and see what happens.Once I'm done I will post the info.
thankyou for the info

the drive system is a G2D zenoah engine that was milled and reworked to the specs I entered above.it also has a marine-specialties clutch with the stock stinger and 3 blade prop.I was going to install a dual rudder system but the guys here in the forum it is not needed.I took it out the other day and it went about a 100 feet and hit a wave the wrong way and it flipped upside down.So much for that run.I have not done much to it since because I have 2 other boats I am building.One is the Traxxas Villian EX and it will be brushless motor.The other is the aquacraft miss vegas,and I am also changing that to brushless.Will let use know how it turns out.
