looking for a small pond boat like a mini z or is there something else availible? pond is 20' x 16' with no obstructions and 3' to 4' deep. will i need to build something custom? I want hobby grade , no toys unless they can be modified. thanks

That size pond seems more like a puddle?!?! For that size pond I wouldn't look much further than something very small. If you were to upgrade how could you see and appreciate the advantages? What is your budget and is there a larger pond you have access to so that you can enjoy this sport to its potential? My initial thoughts are leading me to the new Aquacraft micro hulls that you can get for about $100.

this is for my backyard pond. the mini z was what i was aiming for but i couldn t find them for sale anywhere other than kyosho s site. ive seen tyhem run in a pool a tad smaller than my pond thats why i wanted ti pick it up. I have an hpi 5t and that takes up what free time i have so if i want to get serious about boats it would be a gasser for sure. thanks , I guess I'm out of luck. maybe i can find one on ebay . thanks again

My Feedback: (1)

The Mini-Z boats are a disappointment, they're really slow. The Zig-Zag Racer, Reef Racer or the small Aquacraft boats can be a lot of fun in a small area. One of my brothers has a small pond beside his house and got 2 Mini-Rio's but his pond seems to be about twice the size of yours, maybe 30' x 60'.

I don't know what they did to this Mini-Z but it's moving along a LOT faster than I expected it to...

I agree with Ron. A Zig-Zag racer would be my choice. Tried mine last night and had a lot of fun with it. They can be "tweaked" mildly but wouldn't see the benefits in that small of pond.

Seems like the boat for a small pond indeed!
