If you could let us know the type of boat and type of power we could give a better recommendation

Default RE: prop size?

Finding the best prop to get the best out of the motor available is a bit of a black art. Often, bigger props put a heavier load on the motor which is then unable to spin up to speed. What is needed is a faster moving column of water rather than just shifting more water, so, counter-intuitively, smaller props might be better. It could also be that the props fitted are the best for the motors, in which case, any change will not be for the better.

Really need to see the boat and what motors you have.

And then there is trying to add more cup to your existing props; or try same diameter or slightly small prop w/greater pitch.....
