Default Ebay gas boats

Has anyone bought one ,or tested one ? They have a deep vee and a miss bud boat, both for around $400 . I am sure they arent too good but we go to the colorado river alot with our real boats and use the rc stuff in a cove. i would like a bigger boat to beat on when water is choppy and gas is cheaper than rc fuel. If they could be a decent boat with tuning and some changes it would be fun to have along with my Bj26 and Tc31 http://cgi.ebay.com/Challenger-P1-Of...lenotsupported

Looks like you will be buying yourself some disappointment. If your idea of fun is fixing a flawed product one broken component at a time then it might be worth a look. But if your going down river and want to run for hours it is not what you want.

Take a look at the Warehouse Hobbies Super G. They make the boat this copy is made from - they produce a high quality product that you can beat on all day (Icertainly have a blast with mine). Price is not much more and by the time you replace some of the problems with the e-bay copy you will be ahead with the Warehouse version. www.whobbies.com

In the 5 or so hours I have run mine I have only added fuel, charged batteries, and lubed the drive cable - boat looks like new and is rock solid.

Do you have any gps speeds ? What kinda of run time do you get on a tank ? Also how does it handle at speed on a long straight, in the clip it looks a bit loose ?</p>

Never GPS'd it -should bein the mid 30'swith an air cooled 23-more if you opted for a water cooled 260 and tuned pipe.

No idea of run time on a tank -huge tank though - would probably run continuous for 40 minutes or more - as a rule I make shorter runs since other people want to run their boats too.

It is a little loose since the tank is not full (big tank will see her running a little wet when full and a little light when empty). She is also running in choppier conditions than most models would appreciate.

The Super G is never going to break any speed records - not what the hull is about. It is a very solid sport boat that will take a beating and deliver some very respectable predictable performance. If you want 50mph or better your not going there with the money you would spend on a Super G and certainly not with an e-bay special.

If your looking for a high quality entry level to mid levelboat then the Super G is a very good place to start. They have a very good resale value should you ever decide to upgrade. The Super G is by far a superior boat than the e-bay specials you asked about. The boats are built in the US by a guy who has been serving the hobby for more than 20 years. He will talk your ear off if you ever have a question. You wont see any complaints about Warehouse Hobbies or the Super G

ok thanks for the reply, I love thrashing on my TC31 , i really put it thru alot. I run it in water that I should not. I have rolled it flipped it end over en but I love the thing. On Gps it has gone 39.8 mph so I would like whatever I get next to be as fast
