Default water cooling - newbie

Hello.
Im building boat form scratch. Its my first boat and i dont have any experience with marine engines. I purchased m-16 marine engine today.
Could anyone explain me how this water cooling head work? Where to place water intake etc...?
Do i need a pump to make that water circle?
Thnx for any advices.

place the water intake behind the prop / a place that is always under water. when the boat moves, water is pressed in the intake and through the cooling head.

oh, sorry, i suppose your question didnt really get answered, so ill do my best. YOur water pickup is a tube that goes in a place always underwater or behind the prop, as Saugling said. The pressure from the hull going along the water forces the water up the pipe and through tubuing into one side of the engines head. then the water from the engine just gets spat out the side with some more tubing. If you need more hepl please ask
