i just pulled out an old rc boat that i had lying around but it constantly has a turn to the right. i can turn to the left but it is nowhere as fast as turning to the right. could on propeller be spinning faster than the other? would wieghting the left side do anything?

it should turn left/ right with no problem,,,i would check the radio steering set-up, it should give equal rudder throw...

Did it run straight before you put it away ?
Sounds like 2 different size or different pitch props.
1 or 2 ESC control the motors? Are they the same types ?
2 different batteries ? 1 for each motor?
1 shaft is tighter than the other ?
Lots of other possibilities.

besides the props and such what kind of motors? most 2 prop electrics use 380 motors (JUNK) if they are 540's check the brushes in each motor see if the right side motor has bad brushes and like others say check the rudder for center and the shafts too

esc?
esc?
If the boat doesn't have a rudder, steering will be caused by differential control of the two ESCs, which may well be an integral part of a single receiver/control board. If that is the case, its a toy standard boat. The likely problem is going to be that one motor has more grunt than the other, or one propshaft has more friction than the other.
