Dumas 48" PT-109
Does anyone have any suggestions regarding electric power for the Dumas 48" PT-109, and maybe just some general construction suggestions. I am planning on purchasing a conversion kit from Mosquito Boat Hobbies, which will convert it to a late war PT boat. I have already purchased the Dumas/Pitman 5000 rpm electric motors for it and the Dumas 12V drycell battery. I have the boat rigged for triple motors. However, I am now having second thoughts that I should have purchased higher rpm motors, possibly Astroflight 40 motors if I want to get some speed out of it. If using triple Astroflight motors and two six cells packs per motor, what speed control is recommended? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
