Simply .... Boost bottles Do Not Work on piston port induction 2 strokes. The concept and dynamics of what a boost bottle does ONLY applies too reed induction engines.

Reed induction such as Cox BabeBee engines?

If so I would like to learn more because I run those.

I don't think that I have to repeat what Scott said, it's just the latest snake oil just like superghargers for 2-strokes.
This was a short-lived fad with the RC onroad car crowd as it was supposed to help with throttle response when you're constantly on and off the throttle. Most of us boaters, at least the ones who race don't know much except full-throttle or off.
We old guys wouldn't pull your chain on this. OK, I'll speak for myself as I don't know how old Scott is but his wisdom goes beyond his years.

I always put it this way, if it worked, wouldn't we all would have had these on our boats years ago? The same thing goes for blowers and nitrous oxide.

this issue is similar to my atv experiance. i have ran boost bottles on yamaha banshees. (twin cylinder reed induction 2 strokes)

these did help somewhat with throttle response but other than for racing it wasnt really worth the cost of the boost bottle or the labor to make your own...

i agree if it worked it would allready be on all of our boats, cars, and trucks.

however i would like to see some reed induction twostroke rc engines. other than small cox motors.

ive allways wanted a turbo charged rc engine. hahahaa

Nitrous works great on full size outboards, but these small two strokes are lacking the make up to utilize nitrous.I've installed nitrous on about very thing with a motor but only if it wasn't a waste of time.

Welcome to the forum Justfast.

Boost bottles are not NOS bottles - just an expansion/storage of intake air.

I have seen some elaborate NOS kits installed on RC boats - they claim some improvement but not sure it offsets the time, effort, money, and risk - plus I am not sure how well the motor was performing/tuned to begin with. I was toying with the idea for a time - but too many other unfinished projects to consider starting another.
