Hey all, I bought a Aeromarine Avenger pro 44 off this site, Ill keep the persons name out of this for now.... But when I got the boat after I asked him if there was any hull damage..... there was.. now Im good with fiber glass repairs as I work for a Custom rod shop on the side however Im not familar with the build materials used in rc boating. Where the bronze flex tube comes out of the boat theres a "glob" of some kind of resin there to seal it, anyone know what is used? I was gona use SEM 2 part epoxy, its what we use at the shop to attach corvette panels. Also I've seen boats with a black coating on the inside of the hull and the people that were selling the boat claimed that the coating made the hull stronger?? anyone know what the coating may be?? Thanks for reading, Paul

If the glob around the stuffing tube is soft, it's probably an RTV or silicone. If the glob is hard, it's either epoxy or fiberglass resin. Does the bottom look like a cloth weave? If so, it's probably a resin impregnated carbon fiber cloth

Since the Cat is an Avenger from Aeromarine, than it is fiberglass resin.
Aeromarine will also upon request from the customer, put a layer of Carbon Fiber to reduce flexing.
