Default REMCO Outboard Motors??

I just picked up a pair of Mercury outboards by REMCO. I can't seem to find anything on them - Googled just about everything I could think of. Guy I got them from said the boat was called a "Mach 1". Looking at them, I'm pretty sure they didn't approach anywhere near that speed.Anyway, he didn't have the boat, nor any pictures of it.

They're powered by 380 size motors and it was an RC boat, judging by the capacitors soldered to the motor tabs. They look to be fairly well made for a plastic motor. They stand about 7-1/2 inches tall. Gear driven lower unit, pinion gear driving a larger gear on the driveshaft up top much like the Robbe Roqua outboard. Motors are counter rotating. Props are about 1-5/8 inches in diameter.

Anyone ever heard of them?

You may have something there out of the later 1980's or so. Friend of mine bought two at a local AMA show. One had the smaller electric motor and the other a far bigger one. Neighter one had the Mercury hood, as that was optional for the day. Only two or three dollars, but was some sort of overall quantity he could place on his new credit card for purchases.

Yeah, I figured it was from that timeframe, just going by the Merc decals. Also discovered that there was some sharing of some sort between Remco and Kyosho as the lower units on their outboards of that era are nearly identical. Only difference is that AV plate is part of the gearfoot on the Remco, while the Kyosho has the AV plate as part of the mid-section. The innards appear to be the same, too.
