Ron ive seen your post on these forums for years now. So i know you get around and know the boating scene. It really worries me to see you agree what others are saying too. I talked to chris on the phone the day i ordered the boat. because i had to have him check to see if it had new motors in it. The venom EKOS. he said he opened the box in suprise to see them. and he sounded very cool and easy to talk to. I maybe jumping the gun on wanting to get my money back asap. and im waiting to see if i hear anything in the next few days. if i dont then i am going to leanmore towards favoring what i read others experience and try to get my $ back. but again i really hope he pulls through so i can be one voice in the crowd that says he is really trying to do right by people now.

I just back from a FE forum site and did some searching to see what they had to say as they seem to have their nose closer to what's going on than in here.
What I found was very mixed reviews on FDM. What some of the members said there was that Chris is a very busy person who gets a lot of e-mail and is on the phone a lot either taking orders or helping out others. There were plenty more of the same things that were brought up here, e-mails not replied to and no answers to phone calls. I noted the dates on the postings too and many of them were in the past couple of months.
It must be very confusing to those people right now who are/were considering ordering from FDM.
I'm not taking any sides here by saying that from what I've read on this site and the other one that if Chris and company are truly busy that answering the phone and reading e-mail can be time consuming enough then trying to handle all of the orders plus ordering inventory. Some have said that they did have to wait weeks and yes, even months to get what they ordered.
Here's a link to part of my research: http://www.rumrunnerracing.com/fefor...ght=Chris+Fine . Try a search in there also for Fine Design.

Thanks for looking around Ron. Very much appreciated. I did notice those post were from 2008. many of the post (rcgroups,rumrunner,rcu,offshoreelectrics,rc-monster, etc) i have seen are dated a bit older. except the ones here on RCU are more recent.

I would not deal with the clowns at Fine Designs RC for love nor money. He is not dependable, rude and much more that I won't put into a family site. It is to bad that this industry/hobby has jerks like this. It makes it tougher for the honest guy trying to break into the bz.

I got my $ back today. There are some not so honest details I wont post here on the whole matter but it worked out and now I dont have to worry about the whole deal anymore.

From what I've seen, they're quick to take the money but slow if not delivering the goods. A credit card shouldn't be charged untill the goods are ready to be shipped. FDM is lower on my list of dealers with bad reps than some others. There have been other outfits that have bilked thousands of dollars from customers and delivered nothing. There's a few that make Nigerian 419 scammers envious.

Going through a similar problem with Fine Design. Have heard "We shipped it a few days ago" for two months now. Very frustrating.
Does anyone know where he gets his batteries? They are much better than Max Amps, and cheaper.
