Building advice needed 17 inch Lindberg Minesweeper.
I need all the help I can get. I have a small motor taken from a toothbrush I want to use for the motor. What I need help with is everything. Drive shaft? Prop(s)? universal joints? I the old books I have they show diodes to reduce noise, do I need to do them?

Most of the answers are back on GCGroups, but as to suppression by diode - a good idea for forwards only racers, but a dud idea on a scale boat with reverse. Do searches for "suppression" and use small capacitors as near the motor terminals as possible. If you follow the servo mod path, thats already been done for you, another plus.
