Nice pix, keep them coming!
Man, if I didn't sign up for working this weekend I could have made the drive down to Michigan City, it's a lot closer than Detroit for me.
Hey, if you get the chance, stop in down at the RC boat race in Hobart September 10-12. I'll be down there racing at Lake George, right in the middle of town.

story time boy's an girls: the Popeye's boat flipped today during the 2nd race.. it was all the way at the end of the course but you could see a big wall of water then the boat just sitting straight up an down.. rumor had it the driver was hurt pretty bad...
now, JBS was the only turbine boat there an after a couple laps he had lapped the field.. coming around to the turn 1/2 buoy's he suddenly slowed down an went of course an motor back to the crane to be picked up...this is what happened:

you can see that the nut is still there in place... wish i could have gotten pics of the popeye boat sitting nose up, but just too far away.. i waited around 3 hours an the boat was still in the water, so i gave up an came home... hope the driver is alright.

Wow, they sure buried that prop in the transom!
What gets me is seeing all of those people in the water. If a boat went OOC they couldn't move fast enough to get out of the way. I know that the lake is getting warm this year and it probably feels good to stand out there but it's just crazy to me.

from Super Boat International:
JBS Racing slid around the track and after feeling major vibration, Jeff Stevenson, driver, knew something was wrong with the boat as it was acting so erratic. After stopping and seeing the boat was leaking, they knew they were done. Returning to the cranes, the team experienced something rarely seen. The team had snapped the drive shaft off and the very expensive hi-grade prop was stuck in the transom of the boat. “Fiberglass is basically free compared to a $12,000 prop,” comments Skrocki.
The Popeye’s Super Cat, throttled by Stan Ware and driven by Lisa Matthews, experienced a wild rollover at the end of Sunday’s race. Ware did not receive any injuries from the accident but Matthews was transported to South Bend Trauma Center for evaluation and is expected to be released Monday afternoon.
