so I picked up a cheap (in more ways than one) Nikko Rescue-Cruiser Coast Guard RC boat. no transmitter with it. before i gut it down to the hull, which was my original idea, I'm interested in knowing if it even works. anybody know what channel this thing works on? its 27mhz but what specific channel? I opened it up and on quick glance it seems to have a receiver/esc all on one circuit board (if it even uses an ESC - it may be just on/off for the motor) and no crystal to be seen.
if I can save anything out of it, especially the water jet (this thing is supposed to spray water out of a hose in front of boat) it may be useful for the project I have planned for the hull

well I dont have the nikko transmitter but I have a couple 27mhz laying around. "1" or "2" would be the channel, if there is a "1" or "2" on it?

Most of the time the toy grade boats from a very few years ago have a cheap, nasty, broadband device with a signalling system that bears no resemblance to that used for "standard" hobby grade radios. In all probability, it will only work with its "own" transmitter. I think you may have a hull, maybe a motor, prop and rudder.
