Artesania Latina - BEWARE!!!
DO NOT DEAL WITH THESE SHYSTERS!
I bought a replacement propeller for my AL Atlantic Tugboat, and they sent a defective propeller. Fine, accidents happen. I contacted them, sent pictures showing the propeller and that it is missing the brass insert which should have a 3mm reverse thread in it (the prop is plastic). They said that I should be using a nut on the outside of the prop to sandwich it in place- the prop has a tapered nose cone, and NO hole thru!!! I once again contacted them and was IGNORED! I now have an investigation thru VISA, and will never deal with them again. Too bad- I have several of their boats but I won't ever buy another one! And I will continue to tell my story to any other model boater I see! BTW, I have been patient- this has been going on since the beginning of October. |
Just to clarify- I was dealing directly with Artesania Latina thru their manufacturer's website, not a reseller. I have given up expecting any satisfaction from them, so have applied to get a full refund thru PayPal (had thought I had gone directly with VISA, but I had paid with PP). The purchase is under the buyer protection so I am confident that I will get satisfaction, and they will get a black mark. I also bought the exact same propeller thru a reputable reseller (Cornwall Model Boats) after explaining the issue I had with AL. So I will be getting a verified proper propeller for my Dad's boat. As it is actually my Dad's boat, I wanted to get a direct replacement rather than replacing the stock stuffing tube and putting in a standard fitting prop shaft, or fabricating a new prop shaft with a conventional thread.
