Boating 101 - Can you help a Beginner Decide?

Hello all,

RC boats have recently peeked my interests, and I'm looking to get into the hobby. I already have nitro planes and cars, so I'm not exactly new to RC.

I was hoping you guys could provide me with information as a beginner modeler to boats. I'm particuarly interested in nitro boats or sailboats (I know they are quite different). Any ideas as to what setups are good for beginners?

How do you retrieve a boat if it goes way out and the engine cuts out?

Thanks.

You could get a nitro hammer ready to run. Its a great beginner boat and its fast. I used to have one and it was awesome. You can get one from www.towerhobbies.com for like 219.99.
To retrive a stalled boat you could wait for it to float back in, go get it in another boat, swim out and get it. Or you could tie a tennis ball onto a fishing rod and cast it over the boat and reel it in, it will pull it right in.:D
