Newbie needs help - Build My First

Hi all
this is my first venture into the RC.
I am attempting to build nitro boat.
So far I have the following parts

[link=http://www.btorcboat.com/html/WC30Description.html]WaveChopper30 hull [/link] (to come soon)
MDS .40 marine engine + tuned pipe. Has the fly wheel and the nub to connect the driveshaft
Futaba 6YG 75MHz FM surface radio, receiver + 4 standard servos (overkill, but was cheap, to come soon)

Can you recommend a good prop and rudder kit for this boat (surface drive)
Where can I get parts to attach the engine to the prop? What diameter shaft would be the best? Any kits available?
The nub on the engine has two slots (0) and internal diameter of 0.4375!QUOT! (does this makes since?)
What else i need? (starter, fuel tank...)
Where are some good HOWTOs on this?

Thanks guys!

RE: Newbie needs help - Build My First

Just ask these guys, odessit! I've almost finished my first r/c boat. Taken me 2 months. However, I was renovating a wooden boat that was getting on for 20 yr old and which was designed for a little 300-type electric motor.
£200 later it's got an ACOMS 2 ch radio, ASP .12 engine with tuned pipe, HPI fuel tank and a few other bits and bobs. It's the way to do it, build it yourself. I bougt a RTR r/c car and while fun, it's not been anywhere near as good as building my own r/c.
Good luck with the project!
Oh, you'll need:

-fuel tank
-lots of silicone tubing
-brass tube for making a water collector for the engine cooling head (your rudder might have this build in actually)
-quiet engine mount (I made mine myself - dead easy to do, angle aluminium and lots of bolts with some shock absorbers - I use silicone tubing)
-mounts for the servos
-radio aerial
-rudder
-prop
-prop-shaft (if the boat doesn't already have one)
-coupling for engine to propshaft (I've got a universal joint)
-plastic container for radio gear (not essential, mine is simply in a sealed compartment at the rear of the boat, just keeps it living if the boat ships water)
-some expanded polystyrene to put in the hull so if you flip the boat it stays floating

Uhhhm . . .. that's all I can think of, I'll add to this if I remember anything. Anyone else want to add anything?

Good luck!

thanks a lot guys!
I will get in touch with Steven and lookup the suggested items.

Where can I get some decals and would regular automotive paint do?
