The easiest and most stable foil configuration to create is the "V" foil.
The PT-50, the RHS-140, or the RHS-160 are good examples. Here are some images of a PT-50 out of the water. Notice how the propellers are under the rear foil and the rudders are on top. Also that the foils increase in wing area as they move away from the center line. Here are some short thread on advanced inverted "T" foils. http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=244825 And my current progress at two weeks into a build. http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=256908 Good luck with your project.[8D] Umi |

Greetings
Woowww...Your boat is outstanding[X(][X(]. Very realistic:D Thanks for your help, now i know how to make the shape of my hydrofoil. At first i was tempted to use a "flat bottom" airfoil shape, just like an airplane. But now i don´t need that. FlyingTwins:eek::eek: |

Nice work Umi!
Do you have the plans of the Sparviero? I do, if you need details, I can scan it and mail you, just let me know. Regards, Jan. |
RE: HydroFoil Shapes
Hi Pompebled,
I am just working from the diagram/line drawings that I posted in the thread. I am not sure how much more detail your set has but it would be nice to see them. Other than that, I am working from photographs. I actually just cut the tip of the bow off this morning and reshaped it, it was too round and was bugging me. Umi |
