Dual Prop Outdrive Info Please
 

Hi,

I was told that Hirobo (???) has a dual prop outdrive (one outdrive with 2 propellors on it) for RC boats. I searched Hirobo, as well as other sites, and cannot find any info - I was told that they showed this at the 2005 Toledo Show too. Does anyone have any information for me ? Thanks!

I don't know about anything from Hiboro as they make helicopters as you already found out. When I went to the Toledo Expo I didn't check out their booth, I was looking for boating stuff naturally. It may have been someone else that carried it. I could see where possibly Dumas, Midwest, RAm or M.A.C.K. would have this.

Hi,
I had to call the canadian dealer, they offered the Duoprop special order for 1200.- usd. Got one in a store here in Norway, worked out to cost about 800.-usd.
Usually it's much cheaper in the US we have 25 % tax added to our bill, you might want to contact : Norwegian Modellers in Norway, they might sell you one less tax.
It is a real beauty of engineering, one 4 blade and one 3 blade conterrotating props. can handle up to 25cc engine.
I'm a collector of engines and small engineering marvels, but would like to find a nice scale cabin cruiser or similar for this one. By the way I think Hirobo has a boat designed for two of these units. I will try to add some pic. if I can find out how.

that's sick, I wouldnt even want to run it, maybe a huge pool that's about it.

I don't know of anyone that actually knows anyone that actually has/had one of these.
Could have been an unreleased product.

I just stumbled on this thread and can confirm that the product does exist. I pickup up this one in May 2010 from a dealer on eBay. The cost was $1100 USD that dealer told me that there were only 50 units produced. I intend to use it in a V24 One Design boat as the Volvo Duo Prop is used in the full scale version but just haven't had the time to get started on it.
