vdubsport,
You'll love this answer. "Yes, and no." Almost everything on the water gets water in it eventually. Some more than others. And, no, there really shouldn't be much, if any. Any/every hole through the deck and hull is a potential entry point. Can't absolutely seal everything or the boat turns into a 'float'. What you have to do is minimize where you can (and you are, grease, for example). After that, it's more a matter of draining the @#$ thing when you have to, and keep stuff as dry as possible. If it comes apart in some way (getting to the battery?) then try to keep that 'hatch' closed and sealed. If things are supposed to be glued together, check and make sure that they really are. If not, do so.
At some point, design or assembly, somebody 'goofed'. No one is absolutely perfect except me... and if you believe that 'pile', I got this boat for sale...

In 2005, it was normal for my boat to be seen as in the picture below.

I keep a large 2 ounce syringe in my tool box for bailing.
Other people keep things like turkey basters, or small pumps to bail the
boat on the work bench before going back out.

My boat won the "most sub like.." award for sinking seven out of 8 battles in one weekend.

As long as you keep the reciever dry, there should be no problems.
;)
