Triumph 800
So I guess I'm in for it in ordering a Triumph 800-the sister ship to the Triumph 750. If some of criticisms hold true for the 800-I'll be modifying it a bit. Funny thing is-the price was right-but I do know you usually get what you pay for.
A couple of random thoughts-the 800 looked tender in the pictures so I know she is a light wind boat. I'd be curious to know what some you sailors think is a heavy wind. I am of the opinion having been a sailor all my life, and with previous experience with a Cr914 and a Victor Soling-that anthing much over 12 mph is almost too much for any model sailboat. The model may be scale but the chop & slop is not. I thought the drum arrangement on the Triumph 800 looked beefy but of course-I couldnot see what kind of dervo it uses. So it is on it way from China-I presume- and we will see. |
