Break-In Questions for Aquacraft 18 (RTR Miss Vegas)

Well my Miss Vegas RTR is coming this Friday and I'd like to break it in asap to run Sunday. I was wondering if it'd be acceptable to run it with water going to the cooling head on the bench? Run a few tanks through on rich settings for break-in but instead of doing it at the lake, just do it on the stand with water going to it via a pop bottle and some fuel line tubing? Thanks for any help. -Chris

This question has been asked many times, Some say yes, some say no. I would follow what aquacrraft recomends,

Another tidbit (besides "Yes, break it in on the water"); I was told by a number of longtime boaters that the key to breaking in an engine to get a really good/longlasting fit between piston and sleeve was to "heat cycle" the engine.... anotherwords run it full out down the straightaways and then back off around the corners til the end was loosened up. The engine DOES need to get hot for a great seal. This was told to me by Rod Geraghty, Mark Sholund and several others
