Looking for a waterproof battery compartment for 4 AA's
 

I'm new to some of the R/C stuff, but have a project I'm working on. Involves modding a toy R/C boat (off the shelf from Toys R Us). I need a way to incorporate 4 AA batteries to the design and have them protected from water. What are my options? Are there pre-made waterproof battery compartments out there that I can buy and wire into the rest of my stuff? I've looked some on the internet but haven't found what I was looking for.

Warehouse Hobbies, www.whobbies.com used ot sell a rubber 2-piece case that slid over a typical square 4 "AA" pack.
The cheap way is to either use balloons or what I use, disposable baby bottle liners zip-tied closed. You can throw a piece of paper towel in there if you wish to absorb any moisture.

I got one of these at "THESOURCE" electronics store for $5. I don't know if you have those in the US. Has a switch built in.

yup they do,
but they are called RadioShack (like ours use to be).

Hi YoJoeNCSU,

Unless you run in salt water, there's no reason to waterproof batteries, as they are watertight to begin with, grease the top and bottom contactsurfaces so they don't rust and maintain the boat as usual and you should have no problems.
