I'm building a wood scratch built of the uss johnston. How do you guys make the rounded stern .do you make it out of solid piece of wood or do you use some other methods thanks</p>

On my USS Missouri's i used a balsa block then shaped it.

Most times it works best to shape a wooden block for both the bow and stern if the shape is too complex. If you need it hollow, just take a Dremel to it with a cutting bit and have at it to shape the inside as needed

thanks for the help guys I used the balsa block and shaped it. it worked great and was very easy to work it. thanks again
