Fishing Boat building

Im just starting to build a R.C. fishing boat. small only 4'6" long and 16 inches wide. Its going to be a Tri Hull. and right now Im going to use an old about 10lb thrust Ele die hard trolling motor that I had hanging around the shop.Useing a futaba 4 ch radio.Didn't start to put in any servo's yet, just built the 2 hulls and put on the stern back plate on. No plans ,just building it from strach, and figureing out how to make everything work. I'll be useing a ESC to connect to the "High speed" of the motor and I have a HI Tourk servo, I hope that will be good enough to do the searing Left to Right. The rest will be easy I think. Later I'll use LED'S for lights for night and a light or Prestio Busser to let me know if I get a hit at night, and Led's red and green for starboard and port side.
For power. I was thinking of useing 2 6volt battaries, the kind that are used in the toy kids cars that they drive around in the yard. Reason two 6 volt, is that I can run HOPEFULLY the futaba receiver, which is I "think" 6 dc. and them I will tie them seires to get my 12 volts to run the trolling motor. So what do you think.Mostly will I be able to run the Rec. off of the 6vdc battary?
Thanks for any help.
I'll post some pictures later If all goes well.

Yes your RX is designed for 6v, as are the servos, BUT if you get an ESC with a built in BEC you just run everything off the 12v supply.  Using 2 batteries might help with weight distribution.<div>4'6" is rarely used with "only" regarding model boats around here.</div>

RE: Fishing Boat building

I just done alittle bit more to the boat, added the fishing pole holder, made cover for servo and ESC. Im using magnet strip tape to hold the cover down,so far it seems to be working.
Here is a picture of it,Still have to fill and sand and paint. Well i also want to put Green and Red LED'S. on the sides. and a micro switch for a LED to light when I get a "hit" at night.
Have all. open for any ideas.
