Receiver "Voltage"

I have a small question.Can I use 6 VDC to run a Futaba FP.R127DF the spec sheet say this"Receiver FP-R127DF
Receiving frequency: 50 or 72MHz band
Intermediate frequency: 1 st IF 10.7MHz, 2nd IF 455kHz
Power requirement: 4.8V or 6V Nicd battery (shared with servos)
Current drain: 10mA
Size: 64.3X35.8X21.0mm
Weight; 40.5g /1.43oz
...................................
The reason is that I will be useing a 12 vdc battary to run the motor on the RC boat and I would like to make a small ele. Circuit to give me the 6 vdc and use the 12 volt battary.
Thanks all
Johnny

RE: Receiver

You can use one of these or something similar.

RE: Receiver

An LM7805 voltage regulator will do the job, but it may well be that your ESC has a BEC built in that will supply the RX and servo(s).<div>Historically, most RC gear has been designed to run off a nominal 6 volts, with the ability to function well down to a nominal 4.5, allowing for 4 dry cells or 4 rechargeable cells.  However, some modern accessory controllers use PICs and similar, some of which must only be used from a regulated 5 volts.</div>
