ESC's
So A friend gave me a speed boat. iAlli had to do was a few simple repairs and put in a reciver. No problem. So Now i have found out the ESC is burnt out. I have looked online but cant find anything similar to whats in it. ot is a 20A/30A with BEC (the battrie hooks to it) I need one with reverse as well. the only ones I find are for airplanes or helicopters. I need one for a boat that has the watercooling tubes (if their really nedded) The electric motor is brushed... I dont know what else might be needed. Im useing a 3cell 11.1V Lipo on it

RE: ESC's
Odd, that. I just typed "marine ESC" into google and got 775,000 results in 0.26 seconds. <div>One of the first was<div> http://www.storacingproducts.com/jp-...c-brushed.html</div><div>
</div><div>If you look at fleabay, I would advise caution with some of the oriental deals - their amps tend to be smaller than ours, or possibly they are incurable optimists. Reverse is normal on any marine ESC, but it is not unknown for fast boats to just use forward only ESCs from the aircraft hobby because, not needing as many components and having a much larger market, they tend to be much cheaper.</div><div> </div><div> </div></div> |
RE: ESC's
I guess "marine" was the word Iwas missing.... That works... thanks

RE: ESC's
Just had another read of your post - if you use Lipos, you will need either an ESC with a failsafe built in, or a separate failsafe, since LiPos don't react well to over discharging. Or use NiMHs.
