Hello,

I am looking for one of these. Can anyone suggest a link or has one they would sell me? I need it to be 5mm to 4mm with grub screws in a straight piece of steel, about 30mm long would be ideal. It's for an electric Kyosho boat where I am making the drive straight through versus the supplied gearbox (which I have stripped).

• Excellent value for race and sport
• 5mm motor shaft to .150” or 4mm
• Tool steel plated finish

I have tried to upload an image, hopefully it will work.

Thanks.

Lang

If you are going to use a solid shaft instead of flex that is not what you want. You need a universal joint to go from the motor to drive shaft. A solid coupler like you've shown will not allow for any mis-alignment between the shaft and motor. And your shaft would have to be at the same angle as the motor, which may not be optimal.

This was the first link I came up with that shows what you might be looking for. Not saying these are good or bad, I haven't used a solid shaft since the 80's! The joints I used to use were solid steel.
I would think of using a flex shaft if I were you, you're doing some pretty major surgery as it sounds, you will have more adjustability with you set up, easier to tune.
Possible that may not work on the boat you have. Which model is it?
hope this helps

Thanks Siberianhusky,

I have emailed this supplier. The Kyosho is aJet Stream 800. I hear what you are saying in relation to the solid connection, but the alignment is pretty easy on this application.

Cheers

Hi Langster
I make and sell custom couplers. I can usually fit almost anything. A 5mm to 4mm coupler is easy for me to make and not expensive. A good quality aluminum is all that is needed for this .Steel could work but is heavy and not needed. . A single set screw on each end work for a lot of power.I can also make em using more screws on each end too. Shipping to you is not as expensive as many would thing. I have sent couplers around the world. If you don't find what you want elsewhere ,I'm here to do it.
