Nitro clutch catches and stalls engine
I have a Losi Eight T nitro truggy. I can get the car running with no problem and it will have no problem accelerating, however when I go to stop the car stops then idles for like 5 seconds. But then it begins to creep forward then stall. After it stalls the clutch becomes locked to the engine and I need to break it free (by shoving the car hard on the ground) to start it.
If someone knows how to fix this that would be greatly appreciated. I have had the car for about a year now and the problem is just starting now (it did sit for like a month). |
The clutch is centrifugal, therefore the shoes only engage at a certain rpm; you may have a broken spring, a broken shoe or a foreign object or lots of dirt in your clutch; or the clutch is loose, or the bearings are bad.
Afraid you will have to take it apart and verify... |
Broken clutch springs most likely. As Kw said - take it apart. |
Thanks. I will take apart the clutch once I get home and check.

It should be pretty obvious just by removing the clutchbell. |
Check tenor the springs are okay |
