Default Battery discharging

Do batteries need to be discharged if they are not used right away or if you didn't use all the power? That's what battery dischargers do right? Take the juice out of batteries. I charged some receiver packs sometime ago and I still haven't used one of them. Is that bad? If it is what happens to them?

no, they don't have to be discharged. They can simply be used or "topped" off and then used.

Default RE: Battery discharging

If rechargeable batteries sit unused for long periods of time, they can lose some capacity. So when you do use them, they will not last as long as they would have when new. Sometimes you can get them back close to new again by just using them and charging them. There are chargers that will cycle the batteries for you.
