Default revolver 970 motor..

I know there are setups that use 2 of these motors, but has anyone tried to use just one? How well did it perform?

I had a pair on a e-maxx and it was actually slower than stock.  They were really heavy and at the time I had not got into lipos.  But I am guessing that they would be great with some more power going to them.  You will most likly need a Novak Super Duty XR esc to run two of these.

A year or so ago I ran into a guy at the park running an E-Revo with a single 970 in it on a pair of 7 cell Traxxas packs. I was running my then stock 3906 E-Maxx and he was every bit as fast as my truck and had enough torque to flip the truck over.

I'd say one of those motors is strong enough to power something like the E-Maxx or E-revo

I believer the revolver name is something kershaw designs themselves branded them as, any 900 sized motor should be similar in power (check the specs though, that will definitely vary).

The 700 motors he sells are definitely powerful though, I run two similar (weaker actually) in a old 3906, and in a 3905 and both are geared for ~45mph and can still wheelie out of control, tempted to take them to a single motor each.
