I think everyone should own...
Everyone should own an 1/8 scale buggy. They are just a blast. Mine is just an old Ofna Ultra LX pro, but its tough as nails, and I only have maybe $100 in the whole buggy. The brakes are awesome, it turns awesome, its pretty fast with just a RTR engine in it, and driving the things are just a blast. They jump extremely well. I had it at the skate park today and it would almost land itself. Very little input on the throttle/brake was needed to correct it, and it would come down from 5-6 feet perfectly. Definately one of the most fun to drive vehicles I own, especially for the $$. Anyone agree?

Yea 1/8th buggies are pretty good.
Mine after I bought it RTR I've put probably $70 in upgrades on it (counting the steering servo) and not damaged a part since.
Truggies are also pretty good, very similar characteristics to a buggy but can turn faster

I totally agree, every RC fan should own an 1/6 scale buggy, that's where the quality and performance is.
I used to have an 8ight (sold it) but it was awesome, handling was really superior to the toyish 1/10 electric stuff. I want to buy another 1/8 buggy but haven't decided between Durango, The Car, Kysho, etc.

Yep, especially for those new to RC and arn't sure what to get. Buggies are great for bashing, racing, simple to work on, and tough as nails. Quite forgiving for the new driver as well.
And my first buggy, which I still have is also an OFNA Ultra LX something or other. Came with the dreaded Force 26. Eventually I put my old NitroStar 25 from my Savage in it and it screams. Only things I ever broke on the OFNA were the rear wing and a chip out of a wheel rim.

ya, they are bullet proof, handle well, jump awesome and move out fast.
they are race bred, so even lesser ones can do well around a track, like a redcat.
i have a old ravager that i turned into a 9.5 ultra comp. pillow balls front and rear, jammin engine/pipe and other stuff. i have rolled this thing doing 40 and didnt break a thing, i have also jumped it about 20feet streight up into the air with no issues.
only issue is you can run over crap like a monster truck.

Glad im not the only one who thinks these buggies are a lot of fun and durable.
I have had 3 now. Everytime i get rid of one, I want it back. lol Probably gonna keep this one and run the wheels off of it.

The reason why beginners (like me) doesn't want to purchase a 1/8 scale as a first Rc is because of its pure size and mass + inability to run around the house, and thinking tuning a gigantic buggy is extremely difficult + cleaning and buying nitro fuel = too much work and money and so they end up getting something that is electric, cheap, fast and fun. But of course not every beginners buy electric Rc as first.

An 1/8 buggy is about the size of a stampede/rustler though. Other than being heavier and faster, thats not a good excuse

Heres a side by side comparison between a jammin X1 1/8th buggy and a 1/10th scale HPI MT2
The MT2 actually cost more than the Jammin, and is a way weaker design
the ofna is like a whole half an inch longer (the wing)

Yeah I really want a hyper 7, and a savage lol. Question on the hyper 7 it says that it is RTR but I herd somewhere (i can't rember where) that you have to do put together some parts. Is this true?

OK becuase they seem really cheap, and everyone is saying that they are so durable it was hard for me to belive.

Since I only race carpet, I will pass. Besides, nitro is a pain in the backside and the cost of fuel is way too high.
$35 a gallon??? No thank you!!!

I got a 1/8 caster electric and so has my 3yr old son. Great fun and minimum maintenance and yet to break anything except the wing. I am making a VW buggy plug, to mold bodies for them.
