So having a felony to live with the rest of your life and the embarrassment you cause your family warrants this behavior? Just a question!
Anyway, I've had my .20 cents worth (actually $2.00 worth with my 10 posts of ranting and raving). I'm out of this one. I'm going to go crash a RC toy and hit myself in the jaw later.

It's funny how many hypocrits there are in this thread. For the love of crap, people, humans aren't perfect(even though some think they are). We make mistakes, so move on and quit crusifying others for being human.

personally I think there is nothing wrong with 2 people throwing punches to settle a matter..... Actually with the number of disrespectful people I see on these forums I would say most of them would have done good getting a good ass kicking at some time in their life...chances are they would be a better person today for it...... I Am Canadian and fighting is a big part of our culture ( at least if you played hockey ) ..up here you talk all lippy and your going to get punched out, its that simple......To all the bleeding hearts and guys talking about guns, grow up ! Having a fist to fist fight does not entitle you to pull out a gun and shoot someone, that is just ridiculous.......And to those saying violence doesn't solve anything I completely disagree...... You know how many times growing up we had huge rivalries with other hockey teams and players, and it isn't till we fight that it seems everything is settled..In fact its not uncommon for 2 bitter rivalries to go out for a beer and laugh after a fist fight on the ice, something that would never have happened until they had a chance to settle the score......I am not saying to go randomly punching people in the face, but there are certain circumstances that a punch in the face is the right course of action....Us Canadians are as a rule quite peaceful, but you wont find many Canadian guys who will shy away from a man to man fist fight...Heck growing up we were encouraged to fight if anyone ever picked on you, or was picking on someone else....On the ice we sometimes fought for the honor of our community, club and team mates..nobody ever got killed and plenty of people learned their place and were better people for it.......Hockey is a huge part of our culture and fist fighting is a huge part of hockey...every Canadian loves a good fight ! Believe it or not but our best fighters were sometimes praised more then our best scorers, in many games there were 2 separate games going on, who could score the most goals, and who had the toughest fighter......At one point they banned fighting, but they found enrollment and audiences dwindles, many of us feel Hockey is not Hockey without fighting........Maybe growing up fighting we take it alot less seriously then other countries would, but up here having a fist fight is no big deal, and definitely not grounds to go murder someone...

Plasma i have given planes away to newbes also ,some have chose to stay in the hobby and some have not .I gave away my planes in hope of getting a new member into the hobby that has been so kind to me for 35 years now . It is like playing cards some times you win and some times you lose but i keep on playing. I was not happy to see my home built planes go to waist but it was great to see a father and son i taught how to fly 3 years ago flying some of my planes at my club field and then the son telling me that my plane i gave him was his favorite . I do this to pay back the old timers who took me under their wing at 16 and taught me how to fly and build .I just lost one such old timer that helped me when he could have just said get away from my plane at his club field. So for me i dont look at it as i got scamed but as i tried to pay back that was given to me a long time ago when i was young. Good luck in the future my friend. joe

I can honestly say, never thrown a punch, never recieved a punch.
I have much more control over my emotions than that. Yea, I have been angry, but never had the thought of a fight even cross my mind.
Fighting solves NOTHING so to me it's isn't worth the time and effort.
If you think I need a good butt kicking, you are more than welcome to try.
That is my OPINION and you may not agree.

Used to help people out. I have since stopped because when you do one thing for them they keep comming back again and again looking for more hand outs. Used to give out my help in time only and gave that up aswell for the same reason... people are just useless twats and deserve nothing but a kick in the a** or like this thread started a smack down. It's pretty bad when you have to treat people negatively till you get to know them first to not be useless needy twats.
Off topic but most frustrating of all are needy welfare cases with kids who try and use the "my kids sick can I have taxi money for the hospital" or " I don't have any food" only to find out they bought smokes or you give them something and they sell it or smash it or lose it.
I don't blame you for smackin the guy in the chops... specialy after they came back and asked for something else from you... Some people are cluless and not worth the O2 they use from the air.

I think Plasma is rather lucky. My guess is they don't have CHL permits in West Virginia? Someone clock me in the choppers because I asked a generous person to replace a miniscule tangible rc car and I am going to vacate his cranial cavity with a 9mm. A perfectly legitimate excuse to exercise my right to carry and conceal.

You more than likely were raised this way.. Hence, the reason you do not believe in fighting... As with Supertib I to was raised to be strong, don't mistake kindness for weakness, being from West Virginia raised in the ''hollar'' ( I know, bring on the hillbilly jokes) We are brought up that a fight is not wrong if adequate reason is given... Not all the world feels the way you do... Look back through history, All war's and conflicts are a form of fighting.. Diplomacy works only 50 percent of the time.. The other 50 percent is time for ass whippin!!!! Do i feel bad about rockin his jaw? Hell No!!! It was well deserved!!! i feel for the child that has him for a mentor.. I only hope he now realizes that there is cosequence for ones actions.... I care less about the rc, it is mood point... I was the disrespect, as far as i was concerned he hit me first... Some will not agree but in the real world that is the way it is....

To the OP- Well done. Nuff said. You have my support.
To the naysayers, the "violence solves nothing" crowd and the "you did wrong!!!1!" crowd- get a life. You wouldnt have hit the guy. Great on you! Thats YOUR choice! just the same as the OP's choice was to hitthe man. But to sit here and flame the guy for his choice? What ifwe sat here and did the same to you for NOT being the kind to break knuckles? Of course, with the shoe on the other foot your panties would be bunched so tight theyd cause arash. This COULD all be solved with "Let's all be ADULTS and let differences go, not my choice not my problem, think I'll mind my own businessthen",but that would entail expecting "adults" on an internetforum.
And to our little religionist?- Guess if ya read that bedtime storya little closer you wouldsee all the talk about not condemning, judging OR pushing religion onto your fellow man. As well as the parts about notbringing it out of the box in the manner you did.Fine tho, continue denying the word that which you wear as a false badge, and -if there is such a place- , I will see youin hell.

plasma did you flip out first before you hit him? If so he had his warning and should have expected anything to happen after that.

Is it so wrong to act like an adult and actually have some self control?
I grew up in a household where my Dad didn't know how to control his anger and he often lashed out at us. I broke the cycle, You can break the cycle, there is good professional help available. Recognize the cycle and break it while you are young.

This has got to be one of the strangest threads I have ever come across. So I have to put my 0.02 in for sure. What would I have done? Good question. Another question. What have I done? Better question. I have had people disrespect me big time to other people. They definitely deserved a ***** kicking. This is what I did. I told them to go and make it right with the people that they were talking to. I gave them a time limit. Or they would have to deal with me. And believe me you don't want to deal with me (bad *****) He he. To look at me you would think I'm an account. But they all know I have been in Judo and marital arts most of my adult life. It always surprises me that they do the right thing and own up to what they said was wrong and apologize not to me but to the people that they talked to.
Here is what I would have done. I would have asked the man if he had a minute and walked him away from his child. Maybe behind a building would have been a good place. No witnesses. I would expressed my displeasure with what he did. I would have given him two options. Option 1 Stop drinking for a week and buy his child a new or used (in working condition) RC car. To replace the one he lost in the card game. This would save face with his child. And everything would be good. And he could go back to drinking his life away. Option 2 He is going to have to deal with me. I would make sure he understands this is not a very good option. Plus this is important. Tell him if he wants to deal with you RIGHT NOW you are all for it. Make sure you are looking him right in the eyes the whole time.
I can assure you his son would have a new RC car in less then a week. No punches. His dad saved face. You got your point across. The child is happy with his new car. The dad is happy in the bar. Mom is happy (and didn't have to kick the drunks *****) and she didn't have to drag the drunks butt out of the bar.
Most things can me handled diplomatically. But I must tell you sometimes you just got to kick some *****. Been there done that.

There's a big difference between beating your kids and hitting an adult who deserves it. You need to lose your rights to have kids for beating them, but giving your kids stuff away when your a drunkin useless twat deserves a smack in the face. Maybe he will think on it a little before he does it again. Where is there a cycle to break for hitting someone who hasn't a clue and is a poor excuse for a father?

You say you are a whopping 18 years of age and attend Church? Might Isuggest you get out your dusty Bible and read the 9th commandment? May I post a quote from that Good Book?
What may I ask in your 18 year oldmind do you think gives this man a right to assault someone for asking for something?
