Hobbypartz - Lipos and Leopards
Hi all,
Just wondering if any of you out there as had any experience with any of the lipo batteries and / or the Leopard Motor/Esc combos they sell.
Looking for a budget system for DF02 and thought this may be a good route.
Thanks for your opinions.

Me too. Part of it is because the PC Board , but that has nothing to do with the 140 deg Cell temps. I suspect that the new 50C pack isn't much better. I was actually very impressed with the sky lipo.

well that chart makes me not want to get a gens ace anymore.

Why would you think the Gens Ace is better than Sky? And if you're worried about it, buy packs from Hobby King such as Zippy and Turnigy. Much much batter.

RE: Hobbypartz - Lipos and Leopards
This is the only batter I have been able to keep in a DF-02 without either A major modifications (but the damnwires stull usually screwed up steering), or B the batery flying out and getting damaged
http://hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store...dProduct=14976
To fit them in the DF-02 I loosened the battery hold down screws about 1 full turn. Might have to put a slightly longer screw in to hold it better but I found 1-2 turns worked perfect. And with where the wires come out they miss the steering setup, and are not interfering with the hold down bar
I also run a 9t 35A EZ-run in my DF-02 and not had any issues.
Here's a pic showing how the battery fits in the DF-02
The balance lead actually fits perfect on the side out of the way, I just didn't bother putting it there for the pic

Thanks eveyone. Although I looked at those graphs like a giraffe staring at a jar of peanut butter.
Good to know about the df02 and lipo sizes.
Surprised no one has tried out the Leopard esc/motors though.

IMO the HW setup is better and has more settings for the cash.
From what I saw he didn't have any issues with the ESC when he paired it with a Tacon motor but at that point you are cheaper just getting the 60A HW setup

i briefly ran a hobbywing 4000kv on a gens ace 2s and it was fun. i took it out because it was a tad hot and i wanted it in an st. if i ever put my df02 back together i will buy the same setup and an integy heatsink w/ fan to keep it cool. it lifted the front and hit at least 40 with 2.2s on it.
