I am looking to make my soon come McLaren F1 LM or Toyota Supra body a police car. Does anyone know where I can get a working police light bar that would fit these scale HPI bodies?? Thanks in advance, Joe

Do the lights actually work like a real police car?

If you do get a police bar your gonna have the trouble of wiring and securely fastening it to the roof of your car. Also how many toyota Supra cop cars have you seen lately.

Why should the number of Supra police vehicles have anything to do with his decision? I mean, customization and individuality are one of the things that keeps this hobby thriving right?

While the wiring and mounting may take some time, it is definitely possible and even practical to do it all securely. The wiring should be fairly painless but as mentioned earlier, the whole support and protection issue will need a bit of working on.

Sounds like a fun couple of hours to me!!! If you need any help or ideas, feel free to post and I'm sure you'll get it together in no time.

Can't the bar be mounted to an existing (or fabricated) roll bar, and the body cut out around it? Body goes on/comes off, light bar (wiring, etc.) stays.

it wouldnt be difficult no more difficult than brake/headlights.

some one needs to make an rc car chase movie through "the street" and this is the perfect opertunity.

See the season opener Tonight.. after Hard Copy.

Check out the electronics supply places. I know that JAMECO sells flashing
LED kits. Some of these LED lights are super brite. Somewhere on the net
you should be able to find a schematic on how to do it. Its only a couple
of parts really. Anyone think there is a market for this?

car chase scenes are actually pretty easy to make, me and dagass made one that is on this forum somewhere still. we mounted a camera on an old HPI NMT chassis, dagass's brother pulled it with his HPI Rush, while it followed dagass's Hyper PBS and my Terra Crusher... great videos do a search on Dagass and Movies.
