Default Kyosho NeXXt

This buggy/body is just too awesome not to have it's own thread..

http://www.kyoshoamerica.com/110-EP-...1_p_11171.html

The newNEXXT breaks the mold as a hobby-grade RC that delivers exceptional value, and it’s from the most experienced RC car manufacturer in the World.TheNEXXT buggy brings higher levels of performance, quality, and value than has ever been combined into one hobby-quality RC vehicle, and for a price that’s more competitive than any car in Kyosho history.

TheNEXXT is unique in that it gives you the choice of a ReadySet model, which is factory-built and ready to run, plus an EZ Build kit model is available. Install your choice of radio system in a kit that is quickly built by attaching major sub-assemblies, allowing completion in less than an hour or two, so you get to spend some quality time with your kids, learning more details about how the vehicle works without investing countless hours and even days building a conventional kit.

Available:October 2012
Features:
    [*]
    Double Wishbone Suspension System
    [*]
    Big Bore Friction Shocks
    [*]
    Sturdy Tub Chassis Design
    [*]
    Easy Battery Access
    [*]
    Heavy Duty Diff Gear Design
    [*]
    Bead Lock Wheel Design
    [*]
    High Grip Off-Road Tires
    [*]
    Scale Sand Master Buggy Body
    [*]
    TubeRoll Cage Frame Set
    [*]
    540 Motor (22T)
    [*]
    2WD Drive System
    [*]
    Ultima Series Influenced
    [/list]
So 22t.. decent speed.. and $150 through Kyosho so should be down to $100 RTR in a few months. Might get one of these bodies to try to fit onto my own Turbo Ultima which currently has no body. It's 2.4 too and will certainly handle brushless.. with an easy build version availiable. It has cool tires too.. put some waterproof traxxas electronics and a VXL in it and it would be fun in some water.

Might have to start recommending this one and hopefully get one myself

Great body indeed. By the way, I can imagine them having problems with OFNA who have a 'Nexx' range, or probably OFNA won't care. At the end of the day, why would they?

They got another buggy for sale right now on the same platform for pretty cheap. It's the "Sand Master"..

~$145 RTR

I always thought that Sand Master was pretty cool looking, and pretty cheap. It's been around for a bit now. You just seem to never hear anyone on RCU talk about Kyosho, so it's under the radar. They make good stuff though.

It's cool looking but it sucks that it has friction shocks.

simple swap out on the shocks.

I remember one of my RC's came with friction shocks. They were the same as the oil filled ones just missing parts. I just had to add the o-rings, and gaskets to make em dampened which cost me like $5 lol

wow looked on tower for it seems Associated sells a BL ESC under the name NEXXT too...

wow looking at kyoshos site they have a kit version for $17 less
but it has no radio, or servo...
and is already pre-painted...

Honestly I can't see the point in the kit...

Might try and stretch my budget for entertainment things and get the RTR in blue though kinda like how it looks.

Electronics are super cheap these days. I'd prefer to build the car though. Just glad its available as an option. Although I probably will not be buying this buggy!

normally yes
most times for the near cost as the RTR the kits offer some kind of bonuses like upgraded shock towers, clear bodies, some I had CF parts, or like with my SCX 10 a whole buttload of extra things like light buckets, and what not...
The kit SHOULD come with something, but in this case it comes with nothing additional for a few bucks less. Could prolly sell the radio for $30 easy and make up the few extra bucks than was saved with the kit, and just keep the servo as a spare.

As much as I like building the RTR is a way better deal in this case
