At Mike's Hobby Shop the 4WD SCT class is booming. Sometimes there's even 4 heats of it! I'm about to join in on that with a Losi SCTE. For some reason the 2WD SCT class is much cleaner than the 4WD SCT class.

1/5 scale onroad gas....

In general for offroad, 1/8th nitro buggy, then truggy. SC isn't big here..(thank god..) Unfortunately, it does seem to be growing a bit.. Way down the list is 8th scale electric...(also thank god..)

Cirec, I'm in your area. I've been to Mike's many times, simply as a spectator. Have you been out to Speed Monkey yet? That is an awesome track. To answer your question, 1/8 nitro buggy seems to be the most popular class there (as it should be). ;-)

I haven't been to speed monkey yet. A nitro buggy would be my most wanted car to race. The thing that's holding me back is the tuning and cost of operation. My first hobby grade car was the 1/10 nitro buggy Exceed Forza. Huge mistake, not because of the car but because I knew nothing about hobby grade RCs. I only ran it in front of my house so the buggy never went off-road.

Losi SCB class has blown up here. Many people are switching to it from stock slash. Also, the 4WD SCT craze is here too. Glad I had one before the craze.

Depends on the track. One track I race at two summers ago the biggest class was 4wd SCT, last summer the class dried up. At another track I was at last winter the SCB class was the latest rage, this winter 2wd buggy has taken over. Most tracks, 2wd SCT is the most popular. But from my experience it just depends on the track and where you live.

Around here 2WD SCT is still the largest with Spec Slash and Stock as the largest of the classes
