Default Beadlock Wheels?

Are there any beadlock wheels that would work on for example,Proline Dirt Hawg IIs? or Proline Dirt Works? Like for the wider tire style. I've seen the thin ones for rock crawling and SC trucks, but like I said, I'm looking for the ones that do the wider tires. (2" wide wheels. Not diameter, width.)

I've found that 2.2" beadlocks (1/10 scale buggy or non-SC vehicles) are really weak in the selection department. Just not a whole lot there.

Evidently there's a massive market for ugmo dish wheels that you glue though. [&:]

I'm trying to avoid gluing, because I want to reuse the rims after the tires wear out. Sure there isn't anything?

cut tire
rip tire off rim
run flat head screw driver down rim to break glue, and tire bits off
sand inside bead a little to get remainder of old glue, and tire bits off
reuse rim

Well, I ripped out the pin slot, so I'm in need of new wheels. And with new wheels, I need new tires. It's a 2WD vehicle, so I only need to do the backs. I can't remove the tires, without ripping the bead. []

Syco Venoms method above is what I would do, but I get the impression your trying to save the tyres. I did read once to  put the tyre and rim in hot water (just off boiling) for a few minutes and this makes it eaier although I have never tried this myself so i cant say if it works or not.

http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXUM92&P=7 I have them mounted on regular 2" wide rims. 1.4-1.6 is just too skinny for those tires. Wide tire=wide rim.

I always thought the tyres was wider than the rim? and I thought the widest rim was 1.9"????

I think the 5-6mm difference in width from 99% of the bead locks wont matter....

all in all , bead locks are bad new for a racer or a hard-core basher. It does not take much for them to pop out...

I've heard, and I believe EGbasher has done it, that you lay the wheel/tire in some acetone to dissolve the glue, one side at a time.  It works, but it also removes any finish on the wheel.

Depends on the wheel. I tried acetone on my Stadium Thunder wheels/tires, and it completely melted the wheels. It was nasty.

I would not recommend acetone on plastic of any kind, will only result in a melting or weakening / softening of the part.

yeah but some wheels its the only way to remove the chrome... guess it all depends on what the wheel is made out of

Head over to EBay and look for some origonal Team Associated rc10t 3 piece wheels. I think that is the closest you will get to beadlocks.
The only problem I see is they might be for a 1/4" axel but ones for a 3/16" axel were available at one time.
