Default How does a differential ring gear attach to an axle?

Does a differential ring gear for use with a pinion gear, attach to the axle by using a set screw? If not, how does it attach?

That depends on the vehicle. If you're wondering about your vehicle most manufacturers put instruction manuals and exploded views online. Just search for the manufacturer and go to their site.
