RPS Yokomo SE.
My guess is the previous owner snapped the fiberglass chassis, and custom cut one out of aluminum as it looks a bit rough(or modified a different chassis)
Damn that thing looks like swiss cheese though...

I only say custom as from what I read they only had fiberglass chassis's for that RC(well based on I couldn't find a single pic of anything but), and if you look the lines are off, and at a few points it looks like they went to far in the cuts

Those circled points are why I think it was custom made. I will say the top circled spot is just shaped weird all around/

the material looks like fiberglass to me, but then the pictures arent thew clearest i've seen. all the cuts and holes could have been done for one reason or another. with the way these thing were made back in the 70's and 80's it's hard to say what was made in a factory and what was made in someone's bedroom.

we agree on the modekl, we're just debating if the chassis is custom or just mangled.

if you're putting it on ebay, i'd start it out at $25 and see where it goes.

yea I doubt it will go up much as most people who buy old vehicles look for either parts, or restoration for shelf displays that one can be used as neither as someone drilled it to high hell.
Also I doubt anyone would buy it to run it as all those holes, and age I'm sure made that thing brittle as hell.

Cumquat I think we can all agree the chassis is just mangled original or not

Kyosho did have chain drive buggies in the 80's. I remember when I was a kid I was in love with the Kyosho Land Jump at the local hobby shop.

If you ever want to sell one let me know. I don't mind a project either as I would probably run it once then put it on the shelf next to the RC10 Gold Pan. There are a couple for sale on ebay but the price is outrageous.

Like other have said it a Yokomo YZ. Most likely an 834B but the top brace is missing that tells you which model it is.

I believe the chassis is the stock piece but someone hacked and drilled it and the rear arms to the point of being junk. That being said the rest of the car looks to be all there. If you could find a stock lower chassis and rear arms the car would be work a small fortune. I let one go on Ebay about a year ago. It was a roller with no motor or electronices but the rest of the car was mint. It sold for $825

With a new chassis and rear arms and everything cleaned up and moved over i would bet that car could push into the $1000 range.
