What have you done to your RC today?
#427

I recently built the smallest production NITRO RC car ever made. The 1/18 scare XRay NT18. I found it online at a hobby store in Australia. I got an extra engine for it also from a place in Germany for $16! This was fun to build and it will mainly be a shelf queen. I have not painted the body yet, Waiting for warmer weather. I got the chassis guard printed from a guy in Mexico. lol We are a global market place.

Waiting on parts cuz I broke it.

And waiting for the guy whos selling this to messgae me his info so I can pay him

Well used, I'll have to go through it, replace the worn stuff, get the missing stuff.
Basically going to order the factory Kyosho stuff and then figure out from there what to do with it. Moght just make it a full roller, upgrade it to all new exotec stuff, then sell, with factory parts included as well. Then use the funds from that for a dedicated 2wd drift chassis. Haven't decided.

My Feedback: (10)

The kid said he wanted to run his old lunchbox. We knew it had broken something in the transmission. Cracked it apart and sure enough the big gear in the middle was in 3 pieces. Of course I had a complete other transmission in the parts bin, lol. Let the kid do it all. I bought the Lunchbox when he was 5 for his birthday (back in '07). It was cool to see him start fixing it now. He hasn't messed with it in years.
Charged up some batteries, I was worried they had sat too long but three of them took a charge. Good times.

a neighbor is moving and gave me an RC10GT. i spent today stripping, cleaning, and rebuilding. it's surprisingly in good shape. i need to buy a few new bearings and get some modern servos and a new body. should be a runner in the next couple weeks. unless i get lazy.

still working on that GT. aside from the new body the truck is done. not thrilled with the throttle return spring set up i had to use but it'll work for now. next on the agenda is replacing the battery in the starter box. thing had like a 12v motorcycle battery or some crap. thinking of replacing it with some old 3000mah nimh packs iv got. if that fails i'll just wire it up with a lipo.

you could combine the 2. RC the faucets. imagine the fun, someones in shower and you're in the other room changing the water temp blasting them with cold water

Been on a kick lately. Ages ago I snagged a Tamiya trf416 on the cheap, finally put an esc and motor in it. Even got a new body for it. After all these year I never trimmed a body before. I'm not impressed with my new skills, lol
Probably should have glued the wheels, when I ran it one of them slipped over, causing huge drag, motor was smoking hot. Hey, learning new stuff everyday.

interesting, VTA tire on the back and a TC tire on the front. gives if a drag radial look. probably doesn't handle very well though.
all iv done to my RC's in the last few weeks is put everything away to make room for 1:1 scale stuff. it is finally cooling off though, so maybe next week ill dig one out and run it after work or somethin'

not working on the cars. but i am rebuilding my ramps. i had a super kicker that was really beyond use, it was narrow and light weight. also had another ramp i used more for distance that was also light weight and narrow. im using the distance ramp as a templet and cutting down the kicker to match then combining the two to make one wider ramp, so i won't have to thread the needle to hit it straight. trying to use all the wood from the previous ramps and whatever scrap i can find in the garage. we'll see how far i get with it today. maybe post pic's later, we'll see.

got ghetto creative and made some progress on the ramp over the last week. just have to glue and screw that top crossmember in place and put the surface on and it'll be done. (the clamps are holding it down so it sits level while the glue dry's)
