Default would you buy this for racing?

so i was browsing craigslist for a 4wd race buggy and i found this one
https://minneapolis.craigslist.org/w...663086854.html
my question is would you buy this for club racing or would i waste my money putting a brushless system into it? ( i have a radio system for it)

The bigger question is where will you get parts for it?

I would only stick with a car that you can get parts for... preferably something that is within 2 revisions old.

Check out RCTech for some good deals too, I found an ad here for a vintage ZX-5:

You can still get parts for them here:

It's a good deal, I think it definitely can be competitive to this day, and parts are plentiful on ebay. The chameleon 2 was a spec class legend, this would have been tough to beat in the hands of a capable driver.
