Default Converting vintage Shumacher CAT2000 to lipo

Hello everyone, I would be most greatful for some help and advice regarding my vintage 1/10th scale RC car.

I last used this vehicle over 20 years ago and it has been sat in a carboard box ever since. Back in the day it was powered by nicad 6 cell saddle packs which are obviously all useless now. My main question is this:

Q. Can I convert this car to run off the same Lipo batteries that I use in my drone (4000mAh 3S 11.1v). If so, where would I begin?

Thank you in advance for your time.

We don't know the specifics of what you want to do with the buggy. Are you wanting to just occasionally run it a couple times a year, or will it be an everyday runner? Find a way to strap your current 3S pack on the chassis, and you're there. I know I wouldn't throw a 3S pack into a vintage buggy. The most power that I would throw at the tranny would be a 2S pack. I'd grab a 2S saddle pack, new LiPo-ready-brushless ESC/13.5T brushless motor combo. Just my $0.02.
