Default Where can I run my car In branford CT

I have a Traxxas Slash which I upgraded to 3s lipo brushless I was thinking about getting the high-speed gearing but I would need a long stretch of road to bring it up to speed I was wondering if anyone knows where there's a long stretch of road that isn't too busy with cars in branford Connecticut or that area that would make it worth the upgrade. It brings to mind another question. Is it worth the upgrade to high speed gearing if I have to restrict myself to a long speed of stretch of road and will it really go over 60 miles an hour with a 3s set up cuz I get conflicting reports on that from Traxxas themselves?

Did you get the Traxxas combo ?
It should get there on 3S with enough capacity .
Whats the original gearing ? Sometimes better to gear down when going from 2S to 3S to keep temps under control .
Other things to consider are tires , driver and gutters . At that speed , RCs dont like gutters !!!
If its just 1 speed run , should be ok with what ever gears you have . If you are going to drive it around on 3S , get a temp gun and work up .
As for where ... google earth your area , industrial areas can be quiet on weekends .

I have the high speed gears that came with the brush version that originally bought it's installed in there now. I was told that it would need a higher rate gear rating in order to get 60 MPH which I'm thinking about purchasing but I'm concerned about having enough space to get it up to speed which is why I'll check for the industrial area like you said yesterday

I think I'm going to skip the whole thing like it with the airplanes one of the members said that I was trying to hammer a nail with a pair of pliers trying to figure all this out without the right tools and so on and so forth it's making it not worth it

When I was an engineer they used to call me Paul Bunyan because I figured everything out with a very crude calculator whereas everyone else was using computers and algorithms that were written for them that they purchased with money from their Rich parents which is how they got through school it's been a whole different story for me so I'm going to hang it up

Sunday afternoon drive. Better yet, take bicycle along also. Those slow cruising speeds on a bicycle may open your eyes to a hidden bashing resort.

Nope. Not worth it. Conflicting reports? Traxxas only states "Larger pinion gear/smaller spur gear combinations are for high-speed running on hard, smooth surfaces only." I could not find definite distance needed to reach 60+ speed.

Thank you for your Frank and Ernest reply. I guess I would just stick to the gearing I have and enjoy the three s upgrade I already implemented
