have you looked into the Arrma trucks yet? a little better out of the box and usually cheaper than other similar manufactures

A Hosim 9125 was my first true hobby RC, then I got a 12428 which was awful, then I went straight to a Corally Shogun. Surprisingly, the Shogun, even on 6s, is not far harder than the 12428, and is about as easy as the 9125. I still recommend one of these cars first, as 1:8 bashers are terrifying if you don’t know what you’re doing, a lot bigger and heavier than most people say, and extremely fast. If you do go straight from one of these to a 6s, I would say to get a buggy or truggy, as these have smaller wheels and thus less tendency to wheelie.
